Ehime University has a tuition waiver system for graduate course students with excellent academic records who have difficulty paying tuition for financial reasons.
Applications are accepted once a year.

If you are unable to pay tuition by the due date due to financial reasons, you may apply for a deferment of tuition payment if your application is approved.Please note that there is a fixed application period.
For information on tuition fee waiver, please refer to the bulletin board of the Student Life Support Division located on the north side of the library or contact the Student Life Support Division.

Ehime University has a system in place to exempt students from paying the admission fee (in full or in part) if (1) they are having difficulty paying the admission fee for financial reasons and they meet the academic standards set by the university, or (2) they are having difficulty paying the admission fee due to the death of the person who is primarily responsible for the student’s educational expenses, or the student or the person responsible for educational expenses has suffered a natural disaster such as a storm or flood within one year prior to enrollment, and they meet the academic standards set by the university.

Even if your application for admission fee waiver is not approved or only half of the admission fee is waived, if you apply for a deferment of the admission fee and it is approved, the collection of the admission fee will be deferred for approximately six months from the time of admission.
Please contact the Student Life Support Division for details on the measures to reduce the burden of the admission fee.

There are many scholarships available for international students studying in Japan, but most of them are to be applied for after you arrive in Japan. Scholarships that you can apply for before coming to Japan include the following.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) asks Japanese embassy or consulate to recommend Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship students. The application period varies from country to country, so please inquire at the Japanese embassy or consulate in your home country. The timing of arrival in Japan is April for undergraduate international students, and April or September for graduate-level research students.
In order to enroll at the University as a research student, it is necessary to obtain a “Letter of Acceptance” from a faculty member of the Ehime University, so please clarify in advance which faculty member you wish to be supervised by, and submit the documents specified in the application guidelines of MEXT to the Japanese embassy or consulate where you intend to apply.

The Teacher Training Program is a type of Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship that provides training at Japanese teacher training universities for in-service teachers at elementary and secondary educational institutions overseas. After arriving in Japan, students take a six-month preparatory course in Japanese language, followed by a one-year training program offered by the university. The duration of the study abroad program is 1 year and 6 months including the preparatory education.

Ehime University nominates international students who will come to Japan under inter-university exchange agreements to MEXT. Following MEXT’s screening process, successful applicants are selected. The timing of arrival in Japan is September.
