Study Abroad Programs
There are two types of study abroad programs: study abroad at an institution with which the university has an agreement (partner institution) and study abroad at a university, language school, or other non-partner institution that you have found on your own. This section describes study abroad at a partner institution.
Ehime University Student Abroad (Short-term) Program
Short-term programs (1 week to less than 3 months) offered by various faculties. Some programs are led by faculty members, making it easy for students who are going abroad for the first time or experiencing study abroad for the first time to participate.
Some of the programs are registered as courses and credits can be earned.
Ehime University Student Overseas Study (Long-term) Program
This is a scholarship program that provides a monthly stipend of approximately 20,000-50,000 yen (* maximum 300,000 yen, depending on budget, destination, etc.) to students who are going on long-term (3 months to less than one year) exchange programs at partner universities of the University. Applications are accepted twice a year. Exchange students do not need to pay tuition fees to their study abroad destination as long as they pay their tuition fees to Ehime University. In addition, some of the credits earned at the study abroad destination may be read as credits at Ehime University. However, since exchange students are sometimes required to have a high level of language ability, it is important to start planning and preparing for the exchange early.

Study Abroad Exchange
Ehime University has concluded inter-university exchange agreements with many institutions in other countries. In addition to the short-term study abroad programs mentioned above, Ehime University has exchange programs with such partner institutions, which you are encouraged to take advantage of.
In this program, students pay tuition fees to Ehime University and study at the partner institution for a certain period of time (6 months to 1 year). In this case, you do not need to pay tuition fees to the study abroad destination since you have paid tuition fees to Ehime University.
In addition, since you are considered to be enrolled at Ehime University during the exchange program, your academic progress will not be affected even if you study abroad for a full year. However, some exchange programs require a high level of language proficiency in order to participate in the program, and proof of language proficiency (→ TOEFL/IELTS, etc.) is necessary, so it is important to start planning and preparing early.
Credits earned locally in the exchange program may be read as credits at Ehime University after deliberation in accordance with departmental regulations.
Advantages of Exchange Programs
Graduation in 4 years without taking a leave of absence (except for some faculties)
Tuition at study abroad destination is waived (payment to Ehime University is required)
Application Period
Spring semester enrollment: November (September)
Fall semester enrollment: May (late March to early April)

Points of Attention
Not all exchange programs are available to all partner universities. There are two types of agreements: inter-departmental agreements and university-wide agreements, and the Organization for the Promotion of International Collaboration handles university-wide agreements. In recent years, we have been actively conducting exchanges with universities in Taiwan and South Korea. If you wish to study at an interdepartmental partner university, you will be introduced to the contact person in charge at each department.
